About the Therapist

An overview of my background, philosophy, and therapeutic style.

Professional Profile of the Counselor

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 15 years of postgraduate experience supporting individuals through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.

Together, we explore what’s troubling you and find meaningful ways to work through feelings of loss, anger, sadness, loneliness, or despair. My first priority is building a trusting relationship so I can truly understand your unique situation.

Background and Practice

I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Washington. My experience draws from social service agencies, educational settings, and disability programs. I currently work with adults aged 18 and above.

How I Work With You

Through careful listening and reflection, I create a compassionate, empathetic space where you can openly share your experiences. Whether you need to vent, process grief, or gain clarity, being heard can be incredibly powerful. I strive to create an atmosphere that is:

  • A Non-Judgmental, Safe Environment
  • Focuses on Your Individual Experiences and Needs
  • Provides Guidance Without Imposing Solutions
  • Helps You Identify Patterns and Coping Strategies
  • Encourages Self-Awareness and Independent Problem-Solving

How I Support You

My goal is for you to learn how to best deal with the troubles you are experiencing and to develop better coping methods. This in turn can lead to greater life satisfaction and a more insightful understanding of yourself.

My Therapeutic Approach

I offer flexible, personalized sessions tailored to you. My style is eclectic, drawing from multiple evidence-based approaches:

  • Person-Centered Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Gestalt Therapy
  • Humanistic Approaches

15+ Years Across Diverse Counseling Environments

My professional background includes:

  • Social Service Agencies
  • Educational Settings
  • Disability Support Programs
  • Counseling Organizations

I have also co-facilitated group therapy sessions including:

  • Adoption Groups
  • Adult Children of Alcoholics Groups
  • Employment Groups for Disabled Job Seekers
  • Social Skills Groups for Adolescents

Currently, I work individually with adults aged 18 and above.

Personalized Insight That Deepens Care

As someone living with Type I diabetes and a disability, I deeply understand the emotional impact of chronic medical conditions including grief, anger, and depression. This perspective allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level and support them in building a more engaged and fulfilling life.
